Urban explorer and photographer Kiekmal has used the post-production toolbox of any techno-savvy lensman to not only nice-up his images of abandoned holy places, but to inject a bit of the devine into these scenes of earthly decay.

As our friends at Urban Ghosts Media point out, derelict chapels often feel dark and foreboding, with only broken reminders of the holy spirit and community that once filled them. Kiekmal's addition of heavenly light, beaming through the old stained glass windows resurrects "hope despite the swift onset of urban decay and the uncertain future of the surrounding structures."
