Thierry Buysse has explored a wide variety of sites in his native Belgium as well as many locations throughout Europe. His photos savor the decrepitude of abandoned structures. About his subject matter he says, "there is so much beauty in abandoned and decayed places, the smell of fungus and pigeon shit or the view of split paint and rotten wood. These are all fantastic things that show and describe the way of natural life, living and dying." The fascinating photos of his two visits to Chernobyl are currently on display at Theaterhaus in Stuttgart, Germany.
